SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 2608 is the August 2026 Feature Pack Stack — the second major release of the year and SAP’s 35th major SaaS ERP release. With 2608, SAP is taking its next step toward what it calls the Autonomous Enterprise, where Business AI is no longer a separate tool, but an intelligent co-worker embedded directly into everyday ERP processes. For organizations already live on SAP Public Cloud, this update reaches your production system in August. It cannot be deferred.

The 2608 Upgrade Timeline

What Is New in 2608
The 2608 release delivers more than 130 innovation highlights across the portfolio, concentrated in four areas:
Agentic AI and Joule – the release introduces new AI-driven agents embedded in core transactions, including a Receivables and Payables Clearing Agent that automates accounts receivable and payable clearing for finance teams. AI-assisted easy fill allows users to update ERP transactions using natural language, reducing manual data entry across procurement and finance workflows.
Finance – AI-assisted finance capabilities streamline routine transaction processing, allowing finance teams to shift focus from data entry to analysis.
Manufacturing and Supply Chain – enhancements support production planning, manufacturing execution, workplace safety, and integrated product development, helping organizations respond faster to operational changes.
User Experience — SAP is introducing Fast with SAP Fiori, short one-minute videos embedded directly in the Fiori launchpad Help menu, covering common tasks with more on the way.
What Your Team Must Do Before Production Go-Live
Your T-Tenant (test tenant) received the 2608 update in July — ahead of D/P-Tenant production upgrade in August. That window is your validation period. Three things must be completed before production goes live:
- Validate all BTP extensions against the 2608 Preview system — API version changes can silently break extension behavior.
- Review integration flows in SAP Integration Suite for any deprecated API versions updated in this release using the SAP API Business Hub.
- Test affected user roles – SAP may modify standard business role authorizations in a Feature Pack Stack.
